There was a time quite a few years back when I was writing letters to newspapers, particularly the local free papers. I remember now that some letters never saw the light of day, especially the more carefully crafted political type. Thinking it might be a postal problem I began hand-delivering them to the nearest relevant news office. Same result. This suggested two possibilities. One, my efforts were not considered by the editorial teams to be of sufficient interest to readers, or two, they were deliberately being blocked by the teams. It's useful here to give a perspective: I was competing with universal topics like dogshit on the streets.
Nowadays, however, there's no need to have to get past these gatekeeper censors to reach others. We can share the kind of things that can ultimately cause change. Now we have...the blog!!
