they cover their backsides now by putting every possible side-effect they can think of...looks absolutely petrifying, but it looks a bit like omeprazole or Nexium, I've had both, these looks like another version...omeprazole didn't work, but Nexium sorted me out very quickly and I only have to take it very occasionally now...for a sore duodenum caused by excessive acid...neither had side effects so I wouldn't worry too much about these warnings...every medication now has a huge list accompanying it...

They gave me Omeprazole first, but it didn't work. May have been too small a dose though. The doc didn't mention Nexium. Anyway, this Lansoprazole seems to be helping, although it isn't on top of the job yet. I've taken about 8 so far so it's early days. Getting a blood test for Helicobacter this week. But this excessive acid seems to be quite common jenray.

If no luck with lansoprazole, get the doc to try Nexium...apparently it's more expensive than omeprazole so he didn't give it to me at first...
Went through months of extreme discomfort for the sake of a few extra pence?? And Nexium sorted me out in six weeks...probably I could have stopped sooner but thought I'd been make sure...the doc said I'd have to take it for the rest of my life...! No way!...I'll never take pills for the rest of my life...then he added better not to because it does remove the acid from your stomach which is still necessary for digesting your food...LOL...he's a very good doc I might add, so no complaints about him...I had a helicobacter test too and I was clear...this excess acid does seem to be pretty common you're right...probably the amount of food we eat and the lack of allowing digestion after eating...we go off and do something immediately following a big meal...not very sensible...LOL...I make sure I sit now for at least twenty mins to half an hour after eating and that has helped...and keep of coleslaw!! That triggered of a really bad attack last month!...ended up in hospital it was so bad...raw veg really is too much for a lot of guts...
