I'd tend to agree with those conclusions. Though those on the left tend to have their own prejudices.

The BNP/EDL will always have a minority appeal.
Older, 60+ members of the Conservative Party tend to retain some degree of traditional prejudices.
Our present government seem to be incrementally instituting a divisive policy of trying to set 'decent hard-working family people' at the throats not only of genuinely lazy shirkers, also the disabled, damaged and disadvantaged.
Those to the left of official Labour policy tend towards a 'my country's enemy is my friend' mindset, and a kneejerk suspicion, if not envious resentment, of success.

A Tory spokesman, probably Gove or Lansbury dismissed the comment with a wave of the hand by saying "It's to be expected". It's what they normally do. It's the standard political cop out whether intelligent tolerant left or delinquent racist and homophobic right.
I've always known I was more intelligent than the racist, homo hating, blue rinse, strawberry & cream eating, tennis watching fat cow of a Tory voter who thinks she is my Mum's friend. I'm not prejudiced of course. I just hate fat cows.-
