Having virtually been given the green light to prepare for an attack on Iran, Israeli boss Bibi Netanyahu has now worked an excuse to taunt his enemies. As has happened on numerous occasions in the past the Palestinians have been provoked into firing rockets from Gaza. This is a tried and tested set-up perfected by the former Sharon regime, and simply involves either sending soldiers into Gaza on the pretext of 'searching for weapons' (or some other bogus excuse), or the assassination of any Palestinian dissidents Israel chooses to liquidate. Result: within hours the Palestinians fire retaliatory rockets out of the prison-like Gaza in an irate attempt at payback. Then comes the pre-planned Israeli response to this 'terrorist attack': this time it's air strikes by fighter jets and unmanned drones. It's like a turkey shoot.
The latest response has been going on for days now, and is a multi-purpose exercise because it serves to bully (and kill) numbers of Palestinians whilst their supporters in Syria and Iran are caught up in major diplomatic issues. They're VERY calculating and sly these Israelis. Proper killers too. Meanwhile, of course, all the BBC's journalists are too busy reporting objectively on Syria to get their arses into Gaza.

'No war without Egypt, no peace without Syria.' Arab saying.

The BEEB had Rupert Wingfield-Hayes in Gaza yesterday jimbob. The reporting wasn't very comprehensive though, and we didn't get any Palestinian version of the situation, except to say Hamas had called for a ceasfire. At the weekend the US was condemning the rocket attacks, without mentioning at all the Israeli attack which set off this mini-war. Talk about one-sided!

People should note the casualties on both sides. Something like 16 Palestinians killed (one a boy going to school)and many more wounded, no Israelis dead and two wounded. Pretty much the usual way of it.
