So I note that another of Boris' vanity projects is running massively over budget!

The strikingly pointless cable car linking the Millenium Dome to the Royal Docks was originally estimated at £25 million, but is now going to cost in the region of £60 million. Emirates Airlines are having their name plastered over the cars and even having 2 stations named in their honour for paying £36 million to have the thing built.

How oh how can a project estimated to cost £25 million suddenly become £60 million? and why should Londoners have to foot the (current) £24 million shortfall.

Lets face it if your builder came around to your house and estimated £25 to mend a gutter and then hit you with a bill of £60, you would be rather peeved I think.
