I've invented Cameron's dialogue here, but it makes for an interesting thought. What were he and his government thinking of when they decided to start placing surface-to-air missiles on the roofs of Londoners? Just suppose a terrorist missile or rogue Apache helicopter makes it into the Capital's airspace, will they really shoot it down over the heads of the populace? What an incredibly stupid plan. No wonder the Tories and Lib Dems got a kicking in the local elections yesterday. I will be amazed if Boris Johnson does get elected as mayor again now because of decisions like this, but then again the British public usually amaze me anyway.

I think the London public are going to vote him in again which is a really bummer but, if anything goes wrong during the Olympics, which it's bound to knowing this mob, Ken won't get the blame!...

Well, Johnson did win again, but it was a helluva lot closer than the media were predicting. Waiting for the result last night was quite a nailbiter! Sad for Ken, but as you say, jen, if anything goes seriously wrong during the olympics then its Boris and the Tories to blame.

Well, if they can't get reactor #4 at Fukushima, Japan, safe, and it looks impossible, all human life in the northern hemisphere is done anyway, according to a Japanese diplomat who's requesting UN intervention.
They're studying the possible evacuation of Tokyo, - that's 20 million people, - at present, and so you can expect a sudden influx of Japanese wherever you live.
Interesting times without a doubt.-

There seems to be some dispute about how dangerous nuclear radiation actually is. Fantastic death numbers were bandied about after Chernobyl, but it appears now the actual figure was less than 100.

No, it was many thousands, but not all of them died right away, of course, which may account for the discrepancy.
The evacuation of Tokyo being considered suggests reality is beginning to bite, but even more startling is the appeal by an official of the normally super-nationalistic Japanese to the UN to take charge of the very dangerous #4 reactor, and his prognosis that continuing to discharge the highly radioactive waste water into the ocean, which is causing the radioactivity of the kelp jungles off the California coast, they think, may result in the extinction of humanity in the northern hemisphere, where most of us live.
